OPEN TO ALL INTERSTED YOGIS! 🙂 For students and teachers. To feel confident in your backbending practice, have fun and see what's possible! We will cover: Learn how to engage the body's core and bandhas (yogic energetic locks) to strengthen the body and safely explore your backbending practice. - How to open up the body safely to go deeper into your backbends. - Lots of drills and exercises to practice to help prepare your body for deeper backbending practice; chest opening, strengthening shoulders, stabilising hips, activating quads and bandhas correctly. - We will breakdown and understand correct alignment of preparation asanas, including: cobra (Bhujangasana), upward dog (Urdhva Mukha Shvanasana), dancer (Natarajasana), bridge pose (Setu Bandha Sarvangasana), Camel (Ustrasana), Locust (Salabhasana) - We will breakdown and understand correct alignment for deeper backbends, including: Bow (Dhanurasana), Wheel pose (Urdhva Dhanurasana), 1 legged pigeon (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana), Full pigeon (Kapotasana), Frog Pose (Bhekasana), Little thunderbolt pose (Laghu Vajrasana) - We will then wind down safely, nurturing the body, internally massaging the spine, restoring the body About Gem Yoga: Gemma Williams, your Yoga tutor, has been teaching yoga since 2009. She has travelled worldwide to learn from different yoga backgrounds. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance as an Experienced advanced teacher (E-RYT 500) and as a Yoga alliance continuing education provider (YACEP). Certification and Accreditation: If you are registered with Yoga Alliance you will gain 2 CPD training hours on this course and certificate.
